The daily maintenance of the crane is very important, especially the use and maintenance of the engine as the power source of the crane. Today, Kebu Technology wants to talk about the parts that the crawler spider crane engine needs to be maintained after a certain period of time.

 

 

 

1. Initial work 50 hours

●Replace the oil and oil filter element, the oil of the new engine will be polluted due to the running-in of the internal parts. Therefore, it is particularly important to change the oil in time.

 

●Check and adjust the V-belt of the fan, check and adjust the V-belt of the cooling fan, if there is not enough tension, the V-belt will slip, which will make the power generated by the generator insufficient, also due to the slip of the cooling water pump pulley , will cause the engine to overheat. 

 

 

 

2. Every 50 hours of work

Drain the fuel filter/oil-water separator. When opening the residual valve on the fuel filter/oil-water separator, if no water droplets flow out, use a screwdriver to turn the air-bleed valve on the top of the fuel filter/oil-water separator counterclockwise 2-3 lock up.

 

Check the battery. When the electrolyte of the battery is close to the lower limit, add distilled water to the upper limit. If the electrolyte is insufficient, continuous operation will shorten the service life of the battery, and even cause an explosion due to overheating of the battery. . During summer work, the electrolyte level should be checked more frequently.

 

 

 

3. Every 250 hours of work

●Drain the fuel in the fuel tank until there is clean diesel oil, that is, oil free of moisture and dust, and then re-install and tighten the oil drain plug.

 

●Replace the oil and oil filter, use specific engine oil, do not mix different brands of oil, do not add excessive oil, avoid dust and debris mixed in the oil

●Check and clean the radiator fins, use 28psi (0.19Mpa, 2kgf/cmi) or lower pressure compressed air to flush the radiator and its fins.

 

● Check and adjust the cooling fan V-belt, check whether the V-belt has cracks, oil stains, or wear, if found, please replace it in time. 

 

● Check and adjust the governor lever and the engine speed control mechanism. When the governor lever is in the high-idle or low-idle gear, check and confirm whether the engine adjuster lever is smoothly engaged with the high and low-idle limit bolts. If it is found that the high (or low) idle surface does not engage the limit bolt, the acceleration cable should be adjusted.

 

●Clean the air filter element, the inner core should not be removed when cleaning or replacing the outer core. The function of the inner core is to prevent dust from entering the engine when the outer core is removed for maintenance. 

 

 

4. Maintenance every 500 hours

●Replace the air filter element. When replacing the filter element, clean the inside of the air filter seat. If it is a dual-element air filter, only replace the inner core. If the engine power is insufficient or the dust indicator light is on, the outer core also needs to be replaced.

 

●Replace the fuel filter element, replace the diesel filter element, please wear eye protection glasses, and put a container for diesel oil below.

 

●To clean the oil-water separator, do not use diesel oil as a cleaning agent. Check for oil leaks after replacement.

 

 

5. Inspections to be carried out every 1000 hours of operation

●Replace the cooling water, and open the radiator cap after the engine has cooled down. Tighten the cap after checking the radiator; put the cooling water after the engine has cooled down.

●Adjust the gap between the intake and exhaust valves, and adjust the gap correctly. Otherwise, the noise will be too loud when the engine is running, which will affect the working performance of the engine and cause mechanical damage. 

 

6. Inspections to be carried out every 1500 hours of operation

●Inspect, clean and test the fuel injection device. Do not check for diesel leaks by hand. Check with plank or cardboard. High pressure diesel can penetrate the skin and cause serious injury. If you are splashed by high-pressure diesel, seek medical attention as soon as possible.

 

● Check and clean the turbocharger, -3TNV84T, 4TNV84T, 4TNV98T and 4TNV106T. If you notice that the engine is sluggish and the smoke is not venting properly, do not wait until the next periodic maintenance to do so. Contact your local dealer to provide this service as soon as possible.

● Check the crankshaft breathing system, in order to maintain the emission of the engine, the crankshaft breathing system should operate correctly.

 

7. Inspections to be carried out every 2000 hours of operation

●Check and replace the oil pipe and engine cooling water pipe, if it is broken or aged, replace the water pipe. Replace water pipes at least every two years.

●Tighten the intake and exhaust valves to ensure good contact between the valve and the base.
